Do you know Julia???
You should......she is living out of your wallet.......http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304743704577382360840908318.html
Yours and mine that is!
& Somehow Obama thinks it is ok????
Obama Campaign Memo....distribute to all who are drinking the kool-aid!
This shall serve as your official guideline to the campaign from here to eternity....er, November......
1. Obfuscate/berate/lie/delay/hide/ignore......these are our key words to success in November.
2. NEVER-EVER Discuss, explain, or admit there are economic items to be discussed in the election. WE HAVE NO ECONOMIC ITEMS TO DISCUSS!
3. The economy is not an issue this year!
4. The things to discuss are; women's issues, dog-eating, and any item which is going to reflect NO CONSIDERATION of accomplishments/achievements/things done-well during our first 3 years....
5. EXCEPTION: Osama Bin Laden's killing.........This shall be trumpeted, loud and long, and from every mosque....er, tower.......Ignore the fact that an Admiral was in charge and carried out the mission..... this was to give "The One" ability to disavow in the event the mission failed!
6. oUR ECONOMY IS "RECOVERING"....AND BY CURRENT FIGURES WILL BE HEALTHY AGAIN IN 2020!!!!!
Nuff, said.....go out and trumpet the message....or hide it if such is necessary!
Secret Plans For Evacuation of Chicago....?
Must be something that would embarrass Nobama!
GOVERNMENT.....Its What Made Us Great!
The saddest part is, many folks reading this will NOT HAVE A CLUE what this means.....They see no difference between government and people. PrezBO is of the Govt. made us great school.
Anyone taught civics prior to about 20 years ago will understand the people and their businesses and their hard work made us great! Taught civics lately, and you'll get another whole mix of platitudes about the common good (socialism), and such.
"If I Wanted America To Fail!"
"On or before April 15th of each year.........."
& Then There Came a Storm!
Politics are so very, very polarized today.....I remember when I watched our politicos negotiate for major legislative3 pieces.....both sides involved. Now, we have a system where one party decides to pass a major healthcare bill, encompassing 1/6th of our economy, and the ENTIRE process is conducted behind closed doors. The product, some 2,700 pages, is delivered and voted upon.....NO deliberation....no chance for amendments...just here it is and "We have to approve it to see what is in it!" is the watchword of the House Speaker. How sad....
If you have any doubt about why the country is in this shape, simply look to this. One party controlled things for the period of 2006 until 2010....(of course they had a lame-duck President for 2 years), and they managed to only blame the opposition for not getting anything done. They held the Presidency, House and Senate for 2 years and again blamed the opposition for not getting anything solved about the economy......Bah Humbug!
The Senate, that august body of great deliberators, controlled by the Democrats to this day, has not enacted/passed a budget in more than 1,000 days, despite a law requiring them to do so.....They are above the law. Why, if they pass a budget it will expose how much they are spending...it will expose how much they either have to RAISE TAXES, or LOWER BENEFITS.....Democrats cannot stand to lower benefits, and they will not be able to raise taxes significantly! Sooooo, No budget!
But it is ALL George Bush's fault. They may begin to find another fall-guy by 2016 or so, but I doubt it.
Criminals in my estimation....criminals leading us down the path to the end of this great Republic!
WOW.....New post, and I have a new screen!
YEP....I just went to post and found my entire posting screen changed. Obviously blogspot changed....Oh well, it is the way of the future.
Too good not to repeat!
Goodbye to Illinois
Former State Senator and Republican Cook County Board President candidate Roger Keats and his wife Tina are leaving Illinois to live in Texas. They bid farewell to their Illinois friends with the following letter.
As we leave Illinois for good, I wanted to say goodbye and wish all of you well. I am a lifelong son of the heartland and proud of "The Land of Lincoln" state.
After 60 years, I leave Illinois with a heavy heart. But enough is enough.
The leaders of Illinois refuse to see we can't continue going in the direction we are and expect people who have options to stay here.
I remember when Illinois had 25 congressmen. In 2012 we will have 18.
Compared to the rest of the country we have lost 1/4th of our population.
Don't blame the weather, because most of us love the 4 beautiful seasons of Illinois.
Illinois just sold still more bonds, and our credit rating is so bad we pay higher interest rates than junk bonds. Junk Bonds!
Illinois is ranked:
• 50th for fiscal policy
• 47th in job creation
• 1st in unfunded pension liabilities
• 2nd largest budget deficit
• 1st in failing schools
• 1st in bonded indebtedness
• Highest sales tax in the nation
• Most judges indicted (Operations Greylord and Gambat)
Five of our last 9 elected governors have been indicted. That is more than the other 49 states added together! Then add 32 Chicago Aldermen and (according to the Chicago Tribune) over 1,000 state and municipal employees indicted.
The corruption tax is a real cost of doing business. We are the butt of jokes for stand-up comics. We live in the most corrupt big city, in the most corrupt big county, in the most corrupt state in America. I am sick and tired of subsidizing crooks. A day rarely passes without an article about the corruption and incompetence. Chicago even got caught rigging the tests to hire policemen and firemen!
Our Crook County corporate tax system is intentionally corrupt. The Democrat State Chairman, who is also the Speaker of the Illinois House (Speaker Mike Madigan), and the most senior alderman in Chicago, each make well over a million dollars a year putting the fix in for their clients tax assessments.
Cook County's property tax system is a disaster: The assessed value of our Chicago home was 50% higher than the sale price. Our home value is down 40%, our property taxes are up 20%, and our local schools have still another referendum on the ballot to increase taxes more than 20% next year.
The Illinois system is unfair and incompetent. In the Hill Country of Texas (near Austin and San Antonio) we bought a gracious home on almost 2 acres with a swimming pool. It is new, will cost us around 40% of what our home in Wilmette just sold for, and the property taxes are a third of what they are here.
We are moving to Texas where there is no income tax, while Illinois just went up 67%. Texas sales tax is half of ours, which is the highest in the nation. Southern states are supportive of job producers, taxpayers and folks who offer opportunities to their residents. Illinois shakes them down for every penny that can be extorted from them.
I could go on, but enough is enough. I feel as if we are standing on the deck of the Titanic and I can see the icebergs right in front of us.
I will miss our friends a great deal. I have called Illinois home for essentially my entire life. But it is time to go where there is honest, competent, and cost effective government. We have chosen to vote with our feet and our wallets.
Our best wishes to all of you.
Roger and Tina Keats
My GOD! where have you gone Illinois???
