Why Not a New Space Launcher?
We're launching aircraft with the new rail gun, WHY NOT A ROCKET?If you read the above link...and are at all familiar with the theory of electromagnetic force used for the gun and the plane launches...then why not explore the possibility of a rail gun launch for new space craft to orbit? The force is there for the equivalent power to equal a 1st stage rocket's thrust. Thus the space vehicle needs hold MUCH less fuel and will be much, much lighter and, can fire rockets when the rail gun power reaches its max and continue on into orbit.
Seems promising to me....perhaps a rocket science person with much stronger technical skills than I possess can give it a go in calculation and report back.
Just sayin....
