Government Cameras for $ ???
The City of Tampa, Florida (where I live), installed cameras about 2 years ago in Ybor (Pronounced: "E Bore") City......a home for bars/dinners/jazz clubs, and of course cigar manufacturing......Purpose: Identification of criminals and wanted folk of all kinds!
Instapundit offered advice on this way back in 2002 (The dark ages of punditry...)

The experiment here failed.....miserably.....in fact of three observations which "tipped" police to someone wanted....two were wrong, and the third was the WRONG SEX!
Amazing, but true......the cameras are still in place, but now inactive.....
