A Salute!
D-Day....Lo these many decades later.
I am 65....I was just 1 year old when D-Day spun the European War into its final phase. My Father was in Italy, or Southern France. 33rd Division.
My children remember only a few movies, and fewer lines in their history books about this decisive and horribly-costly event!
My Grandchildren know nothing of it. The event for their small minds is as remote as Attila the Hun; or Ghengis Khan; or even....Vietnam.
I remember and salute all those who were there.
I mourn for those we lost.
I can picture in my mind the crosses in European cemeteries; row upon row of them.
Lest they never be forgotten.....
