This story caught my eye...As the blog is named "Pekin Prattles", you might catch that i am somehow connected to Pekin, Illinois!
The story tells of the travails of the Delta Queen....entirely Union and Democratic travails......
The story sent my mind off into the times of such boats racing near my hometown of Pekin, in nearby Peoria. If you read the comments to the above entry, you'll see my entries (2) about the races, and today's Julia Belle Swain!
